A robust porter made with chocolate malt. We blend it with Vanilla and Java beans, and balance it with U.S. Golding Hops.

Dark brown, no foam present. Vanilla aroma and coffee/vanilla taste, as promised by the label. Not bad, but could have a little more improvement, little push. (Dallas 201505)

On tap at Bier Markt, Ottawa. Pours a very thin coating of bubbly beige head and has a dark brown appearance. Not bad lacing. Aromas are mild cocoa and coffee notes, light roasted malts. Flavours of roasted malt, notes of coffee and hints of chocolate. Vanilla is mainly in the finish. Somewhat of a watery mouthfeel. Overall it's not a bad beer, just missing a little something.

Sounds like something I would love. Unfortunately apart from the sweet vanilla aroma everything else is just average. Small head dissipated quickly to nothing, left no trace of lace. Very sweet flavour of vanilla and a hint of chocolate. Watery and thin.

pours a Opaque black in color with a thick, creamy tan head that lingers and leaves a little lace. The aroma is sweet vanilla and burnt sugar and high in dark malt aroma. The taste is overwhelming vanilla flavor followed by dark coffee and the vanilla is strong and distracting, there are probably malt flavors hidden back there somewhere. The mouthfeel had a good texture, medium body with appropriate (low) carbonation.

dark brown with a tan head. aroma is a little weak. watery roasted malt and vanilla, with a hint of roasted coffee. palate a little weak as well. leaning more towards a brown ale. needs to be more robust. the flavor is pleasant, but nothing too special. lots of vanilla. a little coffee at first...lots in the finish. good, but no depth. i'll give it an 8...realy more like a 7.4-7.5, but a 3.3 overallis fair. just an ok beer. running out of trade beers from Lou. Frick!

I’m glad I got about a 4-5oz sample on this one instead of ordering a big ol pint of it. The appearance is quite nice, black with a light off white head. The aroma contains some chocolate and a ton of vanilla. The flavor is really sweet with way too much vanilla extract flavor going on. There is also some molasses and chocolate. The palate is too thin for the style. Overall ok in small amounts, but more than a pint would annoy the crap out of you.

Mahogany ruby brown pour with a medium beige head and little lacing. Cream soda/vanilla milk shake, watered down black coffee in the aromas. Taste is a touch thin with a vanilla coffee flavor and very slight roasted malts and java. Still satisfying + the wife likes it.

Pours a nice opaque sable with a fluffy, pale tan head. Aroma is fairly strong and mainly of coffee with a powdery undertone and hints of vanilla and cocoa. Flavor is like roast coffee with touches of vanilla and unsweet chocolate, not very strong. Texture is smooth and a bit on the watery side, not much fizz. OK, but not worth hunting down.
