Our new “Kick Ass” Double IPA is made with Warrior Hops and has Golden Color and a Rich Carmel and fruit palate. The finish is long and dry. It is a big donkey coming at you with a 9.2% ABV. It has plenty of time in the bottle and can age and get better and better. Honest we aren’t just kissin’ up here. Open this bottle and pour it into a snifter glass and allow the aromas to come barreling out. As you take your time sipping away it will only get better. Pair it with any grilled foods but if you want a big kick breakout some spicy styled cuisine like Tom Yum Soup, Yellow Curry or some good ole’ Salsa and Chips! Brewed for Ass Kisser hand Crafted Ales.

Pours a hazed orange color, not much head or lace. Aroma of floral hops, big sweet malt and ale yeast fruityness, pretty nice. In the taste, malty, with brown sugar, caramel, and almost barleywine like in it's bigness. Alcohol is there. The hops are on the edges, with a small bitterness, citrus and herbal elements. The malt seems to have overtaken the hops and dominated the flavor. Overall not up to the hop level a IIPA should offer, but not terrible.

I'm with the beav on this one. A little too sweet and hop deficient to be a good iipa. Not a horrible beer, but u grab a double when a regular iPa ain't gonna cut it...and this doesn't do the trick. 11/12 still too sweet, but much better fresher. Upgrade 2.9 to 3.1.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet sugary malts and tropical fruits with a little caramel.
The flavor is sweet sugary malts and some fruit with a big watery middle and a decent resiny /charred hop bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied and watery.
Overall, a subdued DIPA - too sweet and watery for me with not a lot of hop profile. -

A nice orange colored beer with a big frothy orange tinged head rising robustly above. There's good hang time on this one. Settles eventually into a thick ringlet and splotches of film up the sides of the glass. Everything about this beer is hops, with a mild bready malt undertone. Thick and a degree of creaminess. Nice American style IPA.

Well, with a name like that, you just gotta try it. Pours thickish for the type and a hazy amber-orange with a small, tight off-white head - lacing is superb. Fruit and floral aroma greet the nose, but sticky sweet maltiness dominates the hops in this one. While a really good beer, I would have prefered - and expected - a hoppier flavor.

Would have never bought this for the full $10....but the 50% off was worth it. Split with a buddy who said was "very good". Compared with other DIPAs, it's about average at best. Smooth mouthfeel and quite drinkable for 9%. Could use some more hops and bitter. Balance off leaning too far towards the sweet side. Would rather have a 4-pack of 90 minute IPA, or even some Stone's or Lagunitas collections seem better quality for less $$$.

Just above average for color and clarity. Smell is mostly of fruity hops but is actually quite mild overall. Flavor is predominately pine and sweet malt, not very complex but well balanced. Too many really good DIPAs out there to waste this much money on this one which is mostly average.

Sampled on 3/19/2011. This Imperial IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is piney, caramel, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied double IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet, orange and caramel. The hops are piney and citrusy. Nice carbonation. Its awfully sweet for a double IPA, almost syrupy, and not very well balanced by the hops. Maybe it’s more in the English Imperial IPA group. Alcohol is somewhat evident. A really middle of the road IPA. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and a touch vegetative. Not sure I like it.

Aroma is SERIOUSLY hoppy with evergreen and yeasty undertones. It pours an appealing, if typical, clear amber with a fairly thick off-white head that leaves some good lacing. Flavor is strongly hoppy and quite bitter, with just a hint of grapefruit. Texture is smooth, tingly, just a teensy slimy, about average for a double IPA. This is not the best double IPA I have ever consumed, but it is worthy of at least a try. Look for it.

Beer 3 of my 12 Beers of Christmas 2010. Slightly hazy amber orange pour with a near perfect tight creamy white head that is sustained leaving waterfalls of lacing. Apricot-peach-grapefruit heavy hopped aroma with a slight sweet malt presence. Taste is intense with the peachy/grapefruit hops bitter up front and in you face slightly offset with the malts. Heavy beer. Great name. Big hops.
