Pours black and brown. Smells like an old barn. A lot of cocoa, chocolate and cofffee. A little bitter for a chocolate stout ( I would expect more sweetness). but a good beer over all.

Pours a dark black color with a thin brown head. Cocoa in the aroma with some sweetness. Strong cocoa flavors with hints of coffee. A little too light in body for the style, but enjoyable as a beer no less.

Decent stout, could have been a touch past it’s prime, too hard to tell for sure. Nice roasty aroma with a solid chocolate kicker. Dark brown body, thin tan head and good lacing. Tastes of chocolate, nuts, caramel and some more chocolate. A touch of faint coffee and some mild bitterness from the hops. Not too heavy, finishes too subtle for my liking. I need a heartier stout that sticks around.

No way is this a stout. A great beer for sure but not a stout. Totally lacking that full creamy stout mouthfeel, it definately comes through with its well balanced chocolatey finish and all those cocoa, molasses and carmel flavours in between. Colour is that pitch black no nonsense stout like description with very little carbonation giving it an almost un-noticeable trace of light brown lacing on top. A little bit of burned toast somewhere in there as well. Nice beer, but hardly a stout.

A very black beer through which no light can escape. The aromas are dark roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and anise. The flavour is very very chocolatey. There is also a bitter finish that is very noticeable. The feel is also quite dry for a stout. Not the best stout I've ever had.

Pour was a dark brown, small head. Aroma was a hint of coffee but was mostly chocolate and molasses. Flavor was much the same. Mouthfeel was thiner then i expected from the aroma. Good beer.

Bottle from SL. Pour was pretty typical, deep dark brown, short of black, off-white to choco-colored head. The aroma was chocolate, molasses, lightly roasted coffee. The flavor followed with some caramel mixed in there. Definitely a lighter than anticipated mouthfeel, pretty smooth, but a tad on the acidic/astringent side, yet not too much, a decent brew from a category that has recently bored me.

Pours out in an almost black colour with a low pale brown head. Sweetish and rather milky aroma of coffee, roasted nuts and cocoa. Medium-bodied with a creamy flavour of milky chocolate and cocoa-powder. Quite one-dimensional and sticky. Quite sugary finish of chocolate sauce and roasted almonds. Lacking finesse and real drinkability.

Pours black with thick, clingy head. Unique aroma profile for a stout with herbal-citrus base notes and chocolate accent. The flavor is earthy, musky, & bitter-chocolatey with surprising, Belgian-style spicing and yeastiness. No noted sweetness. Not only is it outside the style parameters on many accounts, this beer combines a lot of characteristics that don't necessarily complement one another: lemony, green herbalness + chocolate and coriander + chocolate, just to name two. I don't think these combonations were a success, yet the beer is interesting and non-offensive overall. If I judged it in an "experimental" category, it would score better.
