This is the first of the Amsterdam craft beers to be brewed regularly and deservedly so. A cloudy rust coloured beer with a creamy light tan coloured head. Lots of caramel in the aroma along with citrusy hops and yeast. The flavour is an epic battle between the sweet caramel malt notes, and the grapefruity hop notes. Fortunately it’s an even battle resulting in a well balanced beer that eclipses all other Amsterdam brews for me.

Pours a large bubbly off white head, which leaves nice dirty lacing. Has a cloudy dark amber appearance. Aromas of floral and citrus hops, sweet roasted malts. Flavours are just wow! Nice bitter tasting spiced citrus hops. Some orange peel taste and a bit of tartiness. Hints of lime and even a bit of grapefruit. A refreshingly bitter mouthfeel with a nice warming sensation on the palate. This is reminding me of how much I love IPA's. This one's great and definitely deserves a repeat purchase. Amsterdam impresses.

Comes in a 6-pack at the LCBO. An unfiltered IPA... nice ! Now rated at 7.1% ABV. Pours a dark amber colour with an off-white average head and long retention that gives out good dirty lacing. You can also see the tiny particles floating all-around. Piney aromas well-balanced by the fruitiness of the 7 different malts. Very nice drinkability with a not-too thick mouthfeel, and no burning at all. Again, a nice balance between the bitter hops (grapefruit rind) and the malts (caramel, citrus fruits). The mild dryness and strong bitterness from the hop really lingers for a while. Quite a nice offering from Amsterdam and for those who enjoy the hop, but well-blended.

Had this beer from a bottle. Overall just a really nice IPA. Pours an amber colour with a nice and lasting light tan head. this beer is nicely balanced, a nice hop content to refresh, as well as an underlying malt component. Fantastic beer!

Pours a hazy copper colour with a small off white head that reduces to a thin cap. Good strong pine and citrus aroma. Just a hint of breaded malt up front. Then the flavour is dominated by the hops. Citrus, pine, grapefruit and orange peel. Tastes more than the 65 ibu as advertised. Nice beer.

This is possibly the best Amsterdam beer I've had to date . Colour - cloudy light copper, thin tan head. Aroma - caramel, citrus, some weak spices. Mouthfeel - medium. Flavour - starts off sweet, and then the citrusy hops hit you with a bang. Overall - very good.

A very good IPA in the American style, albeit slightly darker than most American IPAs I've tried. A cloudy orange-red with a decent sized malt cap. The malt base in the aroma was well balanced by the hops. Flavour was hoppy, lots of grapefruit coming through, but was balanced by the malt.

The beer poured a hazy reddish-brown in the glass with a thin ecru coloured cap. The aroma was citrusy hops, pine, and malt. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was grapefruity hops, and caramel. Very enjoyable beer. -

500 ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a deep hazed copper ale in the glass with a massive frothy cap that laces the hell out of the glass sides (lots of malt in this one) Aroma is not startling but pleasant: wafts of sweet amber malts over floral leafy hops, some fruity esters....soft pleasing nose.. Sturdy body, moderately soft mouth feel, malty character. Big chew on caramalt in front, decent balance with citra-resinous hopping, some fruitiness mid palate, long malty finish with a hop sting at the end. Well made, malty but in good balance. Not a UK IPA or a US micro APA but a (Dutch?) style IPA...has all the rounded mellowness of a Dutch brewed beer.
