Poured a brown, dark-brown color with a tan head, very small bubbles. The lacing was decent on the way down and the aroma very mocha-like with a charcoal smokey touch. Flavor was much the same with some roasted malts showing up behind the smoke flavor. A very well done smoked beer, this was a smooth drinker, perhaps my favorite of the ABC stop.

On tap at the brewpub. Brewer was playing around with it and added some chocolate. Nice beer. Deep dark brown in color with a nice off white head. Roasty and malty. Coffee notes. Some chocolate notes too. Chocolate is not overpowering. Smoke flavor is subtle. Sweet tasting. Dry tasting. Nice beer.

Dark brown body topped with a medium thick head and good lace. Sweet smokey malt aroma, somewhat mediciney. Smokey malt flavor with coffee notes. Great flavor. Smooth and fill bodied.
