The special dark lager beer. With body, with a different and soft flavour. Very aromatic, adapted to mediterranean tastes. Also suited to drinking when chilled.

This dark lager appealed to me more than most lagers. It's rich roasted malt taste made it a nice alternative for me in dark beers. I ordered this beer by saying to the waitress, "I'll take the darkest beer you have!" This was her answer. This beer tricked me because I was thinking "heavy" as I looked at it and sipped, but it definitely had the lightness of a lager.

pours an almost black color with a thin head that is almost white and the lacing is adequate. The aroma is of a sweet malt with subtle hops. The taste is a nice balance of smoky bitterness and not to dry malt. There are very complex flavors here with some hints of dark chocolate and coffee. The mouthfeel is surpassingly effervescent & the texture is bit more watery than I expected, but not in a bad way, & a rather refreshing beer.

I don't get to try Spanish beers all that often, and beers like this tell me why. This is not a very good beer. A dark-reddish brown pour with a weak light brown head. The aroma is overly sweet malt, the experience is already a mistake. The flavour is too sweet for me, with little in the way of hops to balance it out.

Purchased to go with a Mexican dinner of tacos, just cos I didn't want any Mexican beers, and had never tried a Spanish brew. Pours a nice looking deep reddish brown, with minimal head and poor retention, and very little lacing. Aroma is very sweet, and reminiscent of corn likker. The flavor is a little corn-y for my taste. Do they have insufficient barley in España that they need to add corn? Mouthfeel is clingy and lasting. It was an experiment, and I suppose it was worth a try. Plus, I got to notch another country on my life-list, but I won't bother to seek it out again. However, if I ever visit Spain again, it could be a go-to.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Deep rubyish amber colour with a mediumsized brown head, that vanishes quite quickly. Aroma is dark dry fruits, some sweet malts as well as nuts and some ashes. Flavour is mild roasted malts, some dark dry fruits, mild nuttyness as well as some ashes and mild sugary notes. Gets a bit metallic as it warms up.

BPS3L8F4T5O7Pretty classy label, black with gold fringes and red letters. Cerveza tells me it is from mexico but no, how naive, it is from Spain? Well I guess they speak Spanish down there in Mexico. 11.15 oz brown bottle. This is even less beer than the 11.2 oz Euro bottle!. Pours dark brown, very surprised, was expecting something like a pale lager. I didn’t see the Negra on it. Has a slight skunk aroma and that is it, no other complex smells in there. Quite a personality impact on the flavor burst. Yes yer typical dunkel, roastyness and malty flairs. I have not seen this by the case at my distributor. I am pleased at the taste. Seems to have more alcohol than is stated. It kind of sticks out at you. The finish is a bit too bitter malty/hoppy for me. Reminds me a little of mild stout or porter and it lingers for a while. This may make it not too much of a session beer. Good overall first impression. There are better dunkels out there but this is worth tasting.

This dunkel pours an ebony color with very slight tinges of red. Quite attractive in that. The head is a moderate frothy tan, settling quickly into lacing. Bubbles pop through the settled head. The smell is all malt, sweet, caramelized grains. If there were hops in this beer, I didn;t detect them in the aroma or taste. In the taste there is a touch of licorice and a thin, light bodied smoothness on the palate.

Poured a dark brown to black with large head. Good roasted aromas. The flavor was much like it's blonde cousin. This would be a great beer to introduce have someone try who says that they don't like dark beer.

There was a nice aroma of roasted caramel upon opening and pouring. It poured a rich, black color with a good sized head. The taste was fair enough with some of the caramel, malt and hops coming through.

Pours a opaque black coloured body, with a medium size tan head. tint of red near the bottom. Slightly roasted malts, with a creamy mouthfeel, touch of oak and dry initially. decent body, and plenty of lacing, but i expected it to be a little heavier.
