Exceptional Baltic Porter, clean and very fruity. Dark brown body with a thin, lasting tan head and nice lacing. Lightly roasted malts with some mixed fruit, toast, and a splash of coffee. Well crafted and unique.

2012 Bottle. Pours a very dark crimson black with no head what-so-ever. You can see a tad bit of light passing through it. Aroma is fairly big with roasted malts and chocolate. Taste comes in 3 layers, first hits you with that "foreign/export" type of sticky dryness, second it hits you with a dark beer metallic hit, and at the end it hits you with a dark maltiness. Taste retains its metallic and sticky feeling as you drink. Very sweet and there is no alcohol taste to it. Very nice Baltic, well done.

Stouty-er than I was expecting for the style but very good combo with everything else they put in there, I like this rendition of the style. Nice winter warmer, gets better as it warms up.

To be honest I was a bit thrown off by the low numbers on this beer. I thought it was amazing and was a great holiday beer!
Smells of Chocoalte, Vanila, roasted malts and some fruit. Pours a fantastic Rich Black with a nice off white head that last. Full bosy with good caronation and a full smooth finish. Flavor was roast Vanila goodness, Chocolate, Some fruit, brown sugar. I was really surprised by how much the vanilla came out in this beer and it truly was fantastic to drink. -

22oz bottle - SJ BevMo
Aroma - tons of decadent chocolate covered cherries, brown sugar, roasted malts, vanilla, Skor candy...completely unexpected.
Appearance - jet black body, dense light to medium tan creamy head.
Taste - enormous malt chocolate body. A definite dark chocolate lovers dream here. Cherry flavor remind me of the black cherries in black cherry ice cream. Brown sugar notes, vanilla, lightly roasted...yowza.
Overall - just a stunning beer and completely suprised by this. This would hold up incredibly well in a blind tasting with some highly ranked stouts I think. Kudo’s to Alaskan Brewing, who continue to churn our great beer. -

Pours a dark tawny colour .. decent hot coco head, with tons of lace .. wow, a very complex Baltic from raisin, prune, raspberry, rum, chocolate cordials .. surprisingly clean, not too heavy .. . refined and mellow, i feel like i was hugged by an Indian .. . nice stuff, i really wonder , what would a few years do? .. . I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize..

2009. This beer pours coffee black, dark maroon-brown at the edges. The head is light brown and dissipates quickly. The aroma is a bit cherry dominant. It’s surprisingly not roasty in the aroma. Besides the cherries, there are also caramel, vanilla and alcohol notes. The flavor is a tad sweet. I wish the oak was a bit stronger. Actually, I wish that the malt was stronger, as well. The roasted malt come out a bit on the palate, but there just isn’t quite a big enough malt flavor to push this already quite good beer into the same ballpark as the best Baltic Porters. The beer seems a bit bogged down in alcohol without enough corresponding richness. I can see it improving with age, but I can also imagine it going downhill.

22 oz bomber. Lots of cherry with cinnamon. Followed up with oaky chocolate, malts and spices.Deep brown. Huge tan head with good retention and great lacing. Smooth drinking, with generous carbonation. Tasty in a different way. The front end is cheeries while the back end of the taste is a bit of coffee and chocolate. Good overall. Sneaky ABVs, which makes this one a little dangerous.

The Alaskan Baltic Porter pours a nice black colour with shimmering edges. The aroma is fresh cherries, roasted malt, and vanilla. The flavour was slightly sweet, not as balanced as I would have liked. I've definitely had porters I liked better!

22 oz bottle, dated 2009. Pours brown with a smallish tan head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.
The aroma is alcoholic fruity chocolate. The alcohol is pretty sharp. Lots of rum soaked cherries, plums, apples and fudge.
The flavor is strong alcohol and lots of slight tart fruits. The some roasted chocolate and some plasticy cardboard bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied.
Overall, I was excited to see a baltic porter since I like the smoked porter quite a bit, but this beer is a bit of a mess - strange fruity alcohol with lots of off notes.
