12 oz bottle. Pours dark black. Thin cream colored head that disappears quickly. Nose of carmel and roasted malts. Thinner than I would hope. Flavor is a toasted malt and light coffee, with a slight hoppiness. Finishes a bit bitter. Decent collaboration but was hoping it would be a bit chewier.

Picked up a few of these again at my local beerstore. 22 oz bombers, poured one into a tall dunkel glass. Big coffee aroma with some chocolate smoke and bourbonish waifs. Increases as it warms. Coats the mouth with a sweet, oily texture. Big flavor. Roasted coffee to start, chocolate sweet in the middle, and a bread-like favor on the backend. Notes of brown sugar, bourbon, and dark chocolate builds as I drink this. A magnificent porter. One of my all time favorites.

A bomber - shared with friends, poured into a Pilsner glasses. Aroma has lots of chocolate, fresh roasted coffee and malty waifs as it warms. Pours pitch black with thick creamy head that's initially nearly overflowing, reducing to a creamy skim. Decent lacing. great oily mouthfeel and taste. I can see why it is so highly rated. ABV's are well hidden, flavors are dark roasted coffee and malts Lots of dark chocolate. Delicious and chewy. Sir! May I have another? Overall impression: Excellent imperial Stout. Must....buy....more....

Poured into a Watiu tulip -straight from cellar / cool, but not cold. 2009 bottling. Big bourbon and chocolate aroma with lots of vanilla and malt. Appearance -pours a rich dark black with very little head. Flavor -hope you like bourbon. Got some heat here, but not overpoweringly so. Complex going down. I like barrel-aged beers and this one is no exception. Nice and chewy. The oak and bourbon aging leaves a nice dryness to the finish. If I could afford it, I could drink this every weekend, as it goes down so nice and smooth. Wished I had picked up more.

Pretty interesting. Pine and sweet citrus, light nose of malt and hops. I can see why people like this beer. Not as sweet as I thought it would be. Decent flavors. Hoppy / wheaty with slight bitterness, well balanced for the ABVs. The hop flavors jump out on the first sip and show up again on the finish. The roasted malt flavor smoothes out the bitterness in the end. Enjoyable overall. Harder to find and a little pricey compared to other beers I enjoy. Still, I would buy again when available. If you get a chance - try this and see for yourself.
