This dark wheat beer is bottle conditioned. Made from a combination of 50% wheat and 50 % barley malt, it has a hearty body yet is effervescent and palatable. Wheat beer officianados must discover for themselves this different and exciting brew. Very dry aftertaste.

Pours a dark brown/red with thick lace and thin head. Nice aroma of caramel malts, light hops, sarsaparilla, and mild spices. The mouthfeel is thick, rich, and smooth. Smoky flavor of caramelized malts, citrus, licorace, and spices. Good.

Mellow caramel roast. A little watery but some bready aspects to the flavor were smooth. A crisp finish, its refreshing.... Auburn color, good haze, creamy head. Aroma is fresh and doughy, brown banana smell... a slight sourness. sorta fruity... the finish left me hangin

Poured a murky amber brown color, somewhat light for the style, decent initial head, nothing fancy, somewhat weak lacing. The aroma was caramel and bananas, weak phenolic/clover aspects. The flavor was caramel, barely any roastedness, very light bananas, more citrus than banana. Spicy aspects about nil. The flavor was watered down, disappointing. Mouthfeel, thin as well. Not a stellar dunkelweizen.

Poured an amber cloudy liquid, large head that disappeared quickly, aroma had a sour smell, mouthfeel was like water when you overcame the sourness, not a good weisse.

This was a decent beer. Pour was a cloudy, orangy color with a head that went very quick. A very toffee like aroma with some sweet fruit in the nose also. Delicate malt characters with hints of overipe bananna, pear and plums. In the finish I thought I could detect some smoke but alas, it was awful faint to be sure. A really, really nice beer that is also very hard to find.

Wow. If ever I went from one extreme to another, this would be it. After being totally blown away by a bottle of St Bernardus Prior 8, I unwittingly grabbed a bottle of this. Kinda like going from a mint condition BMW to an old VW bus -- faded "Mondale for President" bumper sticker on the back included.
Pours rather depressingly, with little in the way of foam, and even less head retention. Aroma seems to follow suit, as it quickly makes a brief and uninspired entrance, before departing.
Just plain bad mouthfeel here -- water has almost as much body as this beer, IMO. Reminds me of Pepsi, without so much carbonation.
Flavor-wise, this isn't too bad. Malty, and slightly chewy -- the only time the mouthfeel seems to pull itself out of the gutter.
But with the mouthfeel and appearence getting no better than a D+ in my book, there's little reason why you should bother with this. Move along, nothing to see here folks...
