Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with raspberry puree added after filtration. Therefore, you may see raspberry pulp in the beer. The raspberries provide the lager with a subtle purple coloration and haze, a fruity aroma, and a tartly sweet taste.

Pours a hazy dark amber color with a slight white head that leaves pretty good lace. Smells of fruit (apricot, raspberry) with a little bit of wheaty malt also. Tastes of lemon, apricot, raspberries. Reminded me a lot of the #9, but a little bit less refreshing as its more malty. slick mouthfeel. Goes down pretty smoothly with a bit of bitterness at the back of the tongue. Drinkable, but there are other ones out there that I would have first.

Pours out light yellow with a very light red tint and light whit head. The aroma is very mild with just slight scents of wheat. The mouthfeel is very thin and the taste is extremely plain.

Pours a slight hazy amber with a pink hue. White head with decent foamy lace. Grainy nose with a little raspberry. Nice wet mouthfeel with a little stickiness. Taste is the same as aromas. Pretty refreshing summer fruit beer with the raspberries not being overpowering.

Pours a amberish color. Smell is sour, berries. Taste is tart, berries, some grains and malts. Overall is a light and easy drinking beer, good for warmer weather.

Pours a cloudy dark-golden/orange color with a thin head and nice lacing. The aroma is light fruity/raspberry smell with feint hints of wheat and grains. The taste has a subtle sweetness with raspberry flavor (which is a too weak). The mouthfeel is light body with medium carbonation. Not a very good example of what a good fruit beer should taste like. Also where is the WHEAT???????????

It pours a light and bubbly golden with a thick and foamy white head and some surrounding lacing. An aroma of raspberry and berries, bready malts, light hops, oranges and citrus, and some spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth, thick, and rich. Flavors of bready malts, hops, light raspberry and berries, orange and citrus, light bitterness, and mild spiciness. Very good .. I like how subtle the raspberry is in the taste..

I had this beer at Blue 5 in Roanoke, VA. This beer was weak and bland. Barely a hint of fruitiness and thinner than water. I just wasn't feeling this beer and will likely pass on it in the future. I'll try other Abita's brews in the future to see if this is just an anomaly.

The beer lives up to the name in appearance, a golden color with a purple/pink haze. The smell is strong raspberry. It's a light effervescent beer with very little flavor and pretty boring overall.

Pours out of the bottle hazy yellow with a slight reddish tint to it. Smells of wheat beer but there is a raspberry presence there too. Taste is of a lighter wheat beer with a raspberry aftertaste.

I admit it, I bought this beer because of the song. I prefer the song to the beer. Hazy golden beer with an off-white cap. Aroma of wheat malt, tart berries, and citrusy hops. Flavour is more of the same, but maybe a bit too tart for my tastes.

pours a deep golden color with a big thick 2 finger white head that disappears quickly to about a half finger. Smell had as a very faint hint of raspberry and wheat. For me it has the right about of raspberry flavor not overpower and leaves not aftertaste.
