Aass? From a rather quirky 33cL green bottle, from a part of the world that taxes the hell out of virtually anything alcoholic? This ought to be interesting.
Darker than I would have expected – more of an Amber Lager, I would guess. Not very carbonated – possible old sample here?
Malty in aroma – not very clean, but at least this isn’t boring or skunked.
A bit spicy in the mouth – moderate interest here for a beer I otherwise can’t get too excited about. Adequate maltiness, though I wish it were a little more bitter than this. I also wish it were a little more complex.
This is too Sam Adam’s-like for me. What the heck does that mean, you ask? Only that while there are very few flaws with this beer, that unto itself doesn’t make it all that interesting or appealing, IMO. A very “safe” beer, that finds itself in the same neighborhood as Sam Adams, Pete’s Wicked, etc. Nothing dislikeable – but nothing to make it very appealing, either.

ABV in Norway is 4.5%. I'm sure the (slightly stronger) export version is even better, if you get it fresh. This beer is basically a pilsener (Saaz hops), but brewed with a certain amount of Munich malts to give it some of the rounded flavour of a Munich dunkel. Not a bad marriage, I'd say.

Nice...made me think of Rome and the way the buildings captured the sunlight.

I didnt mind this one. It was very smooth and tasted good without being week. Even though it was so lite, it still held up with a decent backbone of blonde malt.

A surprisingly good beer! I got the can version, different, enjoyable. I am normally not a fan of light lagers, but I am a fan of Aass classic lager. Very surprised this beer came out of Norway.

Lt Brown color, medium head. A malty lager, slightly hopped. Clean light taste, light flavor. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is malty, no bitterness. Not bad, but nothing special.
