The beer poured a medium dark brown with a huge tan head that was easily resurrected. The aroma was dark malt, sugar, apples, and toffee. The mouthfeel was light to medium bodied, with high carbonation. The flavour is sweet malt, caramel, licorice, and fruit.

The beer poured a translucent golden red with a creamy tan cap, no doubt aided by the nitro-widget, and mild effervescence. Aroma was a pungent caramel right as the can opened, however in the glass, plenty of grain and metallic notes. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with mild carbonation. Flavour was slightly sweet, a bit soapy, and slightly acidic.

The beer poured a hazy golden-red with a thin tan head. The aroma was sweet malt, fruit, citrusy hops and some grains. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The alcohol was definitely noticeable in this beer. There was a sweet fruity note to the flavour along with a bitter citrusy finish....but again, the alcohol was the winner (or is that loser) in the flavour category.

The beer poured a slightly hazed reddish-brown colour with a rocky 1" tan coloured head. Aroma is yeast, sugar, sweet malt, and spices. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is sweet and fruity with a dry spicy finish. Alcohol is extremely well hidden.

I tried this beer on draught on December 30, 2011 at "C'est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a solid dark brown with black edges and a creamy brown coloured cap. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate with hints of bourbon. The mouthfeel was full bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was roasted malt, lots of coffee, and a splash of vanilla. The best Nickel Brook beer I've had to date.

A gift from a friend. A nice pleasant abbey dubbel which is easy drinking and full of flavour. A dark brown pour with reddish edges, the aroma consists of sweet malt, sugar, and fruits. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour is similar with a nice bitter end. Every once in a while there is a whiff of alcohol.

I tried this beer on December 16, 2011 at "Bar Volo" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a beautiful translucent red with a thin tan coloured ring for a head. The aroma consisted of some sweet malt, citrus hints, and grains. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was a decent balkance between the sweetness of the malt, and the mild grapefruity tasting hops. The hoppiest altbier I've ever had.
