What numbers should be retired?

Non-Beer Discussion by SLOWRUNNER77

I'll throw in a couple from the NFL, since they're in season, and are the most visible... It's been very odd to see Browns #82. The wizard of Oz was arguably the best TE ever when he retired. At least with him, his current position may explain why his number's not in the rafters. Bears #50. Singletary was one of the best defenders of the generation. Possibly the most heinous - Raiders #81. C'mon man! How many yards does a brother have to gain to get a number hung up?

If the Bengals have a 78 now, that's just blasphemous...
78 may not be formally retired, but no Bengal on a regular season roster has worn it since Munoz.
Steelers don't retire numbers either, but unofficially no one will ever wear number 12, 32 or 75.
#70 Ernie Stautner, DT, 1950-1963, all with Steelers. Number retired in 1964, elected to HOF in 1969. [:D]
I didn't know that!! Must have been a pre-Rooney decision.

List of all retired numbers on NFL.com http://www.nfl.com/history/retirednumbers NFL retired numbers in 2013: Eagles #5, Donovan McNabb. Niners #80, Jerry Rice - Interesingly, when Rice played for the Seahawks in 2004, he was permitted to wear Steve Largent's already-retired #80. Bears #89, Mike Ditka. The team has announced that it will be the last number they retire. Just one player has had his number retired by 2 teams, Reggie White #92 by both Packers and Eagles.

Ahhhhhh.... Reggie.... What good memories.... Good dude, even if publically a little over the top. Even if I wasn't a man of faith, I'd still take his over the top instead of that of 99% of the others in the league.

Right on. If everyone in the world lived like Travis I'd most likely, and gratefully, be out of a job. Probably just be making beer or cheese or the like. Not growing plants or food because I suck at that.
