Created through the national partnership of Granville Island Brewing and Creemore Springs Brewery, the Company champions the greater appreciation and availability of craft beer across the country. In support of the Company's mission, The Beer Academy was launched in Toronto in 2012 as an epicentre for all things beer; facilities include a small-batch craft brewery, a tasting room and beer shop, and an experiential beer event space. The Company will also be opening a world-class import division in 2012 to promote and distribute unique and exciting beers traditionally unavailable in Canada. Through their dynamic portfolio of quality brands, Six Pints Specialty Beer Company will continue to celebrate, share and declare their undying love of beer with all like-minded Canadians. The Beer Academy is Canada’s first multi-functioning space dedicated to sharing the knowledge, passion and diversity of beer. Nestled in the heart of downtown Toronto, the Beer Academy features a small-batch craft brewery, a tasting room and beer shop, and an inviting beer café where guests can relax with their favourite pint. The venue also features an experiential event space that includes a sensory tasting bar, a beer-lover’s library, and a tribute to the history of the world’s greatest beverage. With a focus on education and enlightenment, the establishment has a total of 9,000 square feet dedicated to beer-related events, plus state-of-the-art training facilities, including a teaching kitchen. Fresh, hand-crafted ales and lagers brewed on-site range from the classic to the adventurous and include seasonals, unique one-offs, and collaboration brews. Through the tasting room and beer shop, all of the beers brewed on-site are available to sample and take home in quart-size bottles and growlers. Unique to Toronto, the growlers are filled to order at an innovative counter-pressure growler station that ensures the beer tastes fresh – right from the brewery. Guided tours of the brewery are also available upon request. So, leaving with a greater appreciation for beer (plus a couple quarts or a growler) is inevitable.
