This English-Style India Pale Ale represents our first attempt to dump loads of hops into our copper-clad boil kettle. The first of many. 2-Row Pale Malt gets blended with 3 different Crystal malts as well as a generous helping of Rye Malt to honour of our Canadian farmers. Big and resiny Chinook meets classic Cascade and fresh and zippy New Zealand Hallertau hops brining out 40 IBU's. Dry hopping during aging used a mixture of the same 3 hops used to boost up the fresh hop aromas and flavours. A classic Ale Yeast from California helps keep the beer’s character clean, enjoyable and to the point. The pour is smooth and lush showing off a coppery orange beer that really glows in the glass. It has a sunset-like golden hue in the middle of a hazy body below a creamy off-white foam that is tinted tortilla-chip yellow. The aroma shows off bright and fragrant hops with a smooth whiff of resin, pine, zest, tropical fruit and sweet candy. While the malts edge through on the nose they really turn out on the palate opening with caramel brittle candy, dark brown sugar, honey and grainy malt. IPA is medium bodied with an enjoyable balance of malt and hops that finishes lightly sweet with a gentle hoppy bitter end. The beer pours a slightly hazed yellow gold colour with a decent off-white cap that lingers a while. The aroma is honey, light fruit, and grains with no noticable alcohol notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour is grainy with noticeable alcohol bitterness. Takes a decent beer and knocks it down a notch or two.

Growler. Colour - hazed light amber, generous white cap. Aroma - pine, citrus, grains. Mouthfeel - medium bodied. Flavour - quite hoppy, weak grapefruit, some sweet malt. Overall - good.
