Had this on tap at Wynkoop in denver. Dark brown, creamy, thin tan head. Taste has some soft choclate, almond and wood. Nose is a little bready with faint hops.

Sampled a fresh draft pint at the brewpub in Denver. Pours a clear, dark brown color, not quite black. It had a light brown ring of foam (not really any head), did leave thin lacing. Malt aromas, some roasted grain smell, but not the smokiness I was expecting. Flavor was malty, somewhat complex, but not overly powerful. No real hop taste or finish in this one. Thin mouthfeel kept it light and quite drinkable. Good, but not great.

sampler. black in color and nice thick body. light beautiful tan head but light on lacing suprisingly. nice sweet malty aroma and taste, and sweet of something I couldn't pinpoint at the time. after reading the reviews it looks like it was banana I was missing. very smooth aftertaste.

Sampler. Dark brown/black with a nice tan head. Very sweet, almost buttery aroma. Flavor is full with a nice, sweetness, but it's not overpowering. Definitely give it a try.

10.02.05 Tap at brewery. Oh boy! Finally another schwarzbier. Oh no! It’s an out of control butter bomb! Massive diacetyl aromas and flavors are so dominant as to be distracting from thinking about anything else with this brew. Thin bodied and, damn it, I was really looking forward to a schwarz.

This is an excellent beer. It is dark in color with a light head. The flavor is rich, slightly chocolate with a hint of banana. There is a smooth sweet aftertaste. Overall a very good beer.
