Shared bottle at local tasting. Brown colour, moderate off-white head. Malty aroma, also "perfumed" notes, caramel and candy. Sweetish perfumed flavour too, the alcohol is not well hidden. Caramel and toffee, low bitterness.

A deep amber colored beer with a small, two fingered light tan colored head rising above. There's some hang time on the head. It settles into a thick ringlet and splotches of film. Deep nose and tasting of bready, caramel malt. Some earthy notes. Medium bodied and smooth

Not a bad looking beer. Head dissipates but leaves some lacing. Wet breaded malt aroma. Flavour has caramel malt, fruit, nuts and is quite floral. Smooth full mouthfeel. Much better on draft but think I'll have to go back to England to get it.

Poured a dark red copper color with foamy tan head. The aroma had a sweet fruity malt smell. The taste was pretty lite but had decent flavor. There was no after taste or bitterness.

Comes in nice bottles from lcbo. Pours a slightly off white foamy head and has a reddish amber colour. Has some dirty lacing. very nice. Aromas of malts, vanilla, and light hops. Flavours of mild chocolate, spices, hints of caramel, and a slight alocohol tinge. Mild carbonation, creamy mouthfeel with a hint of cinnamon. Pretty smooth and fairly easy drinking.

Pours a clean deep amber colour with a light beige foamy head, average retention and dirty lacing. Matly cereal nose with some toffee notes and a bit of alcohol. No burning from it in the mouth though and medium-bodied. A little more hop in the taste, well-blended with the caramel malt, adding some slight bitterness and dryness in the finish. Hints of roasted malts are also tasted in the aftertaste, with some fruits (apples, raisins) and then coffee and nuts. Not a bad brew and worth having once a year at this time of witches.

500ml bottle. Decants a dark copper ale in the glass. Smallish off white sticky cap…laces the glass well. Moderate carbonation. Malty earthy nose with some sweet fruity undertones. Rich full bodied with a soft mouth feel. Big chewy Chrystal malting in front hops sit back but provide fair balance. Mid palate a wee bit of complexity starts with hints of nuts, fruit, fresh sweet buns, treacle, some toastiness. Finish is long and luxurious with hops coming forward with tasteful bittering stinging the edge and back of the palate. An absolutely top flight ale. Rich, malty, satisfying and warming. Not much like a typical ESB, more like a well-crafted rich amber ale or light Ur bock. Probably the best offering from this brewer. The bottle version is softer and more understated than the draft version I tasted in the US

The beer poured a translucent dark rusty-red colour with a thin tan head that quickly disappeared. The aroma was nutty malt, floral hops, and dark fruits. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was sweet, malty, with some nuts. Alcohol was noticeable.

Picked this up on a whim because I like the other Wychwood beers that I've had and 500 ml bottles are the perfect size. Very dark reddish amber color, light tannish head. Tastes of dark cherries and chocolate, with a hint of caramel. Slightly bitter, but very clean finish. Damn this is a delicious beer. Something magical about a beer called King Goblin that is brewed under the full moon. Delicious...wish I picked up more bottles of this.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Copper colour with a mediumsized foamy beige head. Aroma is crystal and bready malts along with rather strong grassy and floral bitterness. Also has some slight caramel and dark dry fruits. Flavour is raisins, dark dry fruits, quite strong on the malty side as well as rather bitter towards the finish.
