Pacific Northwest meets Alberta South. Wild Rose Brewery’s Imperial India Pale Ale (IIPA) is created in the traditional Double IPA style, but with a unique Albertan twist. Extremely hoppy with floral notes of pine and citrus, our Imperial IPA expertly blends Chinook, Bravo & Cascade hops with the finest Alberta two-row barley and crystal malts. Described as an India Pale Ale “on steroids,” Double IPAs are robust and malty with a higher alcohol and a very intense hop flavour. It’s no doubt that these hoppy brews are one of the fastest growing styles in the craft beer industry. If you have never had a beer with lots of hops this is not the place to start. If you have, sit back, relax and enjoy the bitter ride that is our Imperial IPA.

A true Canadian brewed IIPA worthy of the name. Not a lot of balance here, but the hops are definitely enjoyable. A solid golden-brown pour with orange highlights and an off white head. Citrusy hops are the aroma of the day. The flavour is grapefruit hops with some biscuity malts. An excellent beer!

Second of my 5 bottle WR stash. This one was worth the travel. Pours an dark amber ale with a masive cap that laces the hell out of a glass. Pungent aromas of musty-woody hopping and grain husk with citrus and sweetness to it. Big stiff belt of malt in the frontside is well balanced against a pervasive citrus-pine hopping and herbal-earthy under tone. Long oily rich finish with lottsa hop and malts. A great big beer.

On tap direct from the Tap Room. Dark orange amber color, white foam but not alot of retention or lace. Lots of floral citrus and pine hop aroma. Lots of malt which balances the big hop flavor, and keeps it from being too bitter or sharp. According to Wild Rose literature, at 80+ IBUs if you don't know/like hops, this is not the place to start. Thick, slightly oily and coating mouthfeel. Maybe my scores are a bit biased, but it is great to have a locally made hop bomb to compete.
