Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale.

Either I am drinking way to many imperial IPAs or this "regular" IPA is pretty weak. Pours a clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is kind of weak but the pine and citrusy hops are evident. Flavor is much the same--not a huge hop kick although the hops are there. Overall, a well constructed beer but without the big hop punch I like in an IPA. Would be an excellent choice as a "sessionable" IPA though.

pours the usual color, maybe a bit lighter than some. floral and citrusy nose. nice. smooth, thin feel with a decent citrusy slightly bitter taste. i've had better, but it's nice enough.

Bottled (thanks Kalevi Kurronen!). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops with some slight honey and mild spices. Rather pleasant. Flavour is fruits, some honey and mild herbal and wooden notes. Quite sweet fruity finish.

Weak. Weak color, weak flavor, weak head. Especially noteworthy is the weakness of the hops... far too malty for an IPA and far too weak on the hops. They just missed the mark on this one all the way around. The closest thing to a drain pour so far (and its still early) this year.

This is not a very hoppy IPA for a British styled IPA. It's a hazy golden beer with a bubbly white head. The aroma is weak and citrusy, not a lot maltiness. The flavour is weakly grapefruity, but not as strong as traditional British IPAs

Pours golden with a small, scattered head. Aroma is yeasty with subtle floral topnotes. Flavor is plain, boring, lightly bitter, not offensive but not impressive by any means. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Decent sample but I will never seek this beer out again.

Widmer has always put out good solid beers. This is a pretty decent IPA. Not a strong as most IPA's which is why it has less of a bite to it. This beer goes down smooth. pretty basic IPA that is smoother than most. good drinkin beer

A nice offering from Widmer bros. It poured a Light copper colored body with a decent head, fair lacing. Aroma was really nice hints of peach, apricot and a little piney. Good mouthfeel was good, it was more bitter than it should have been, perhaps it was a tad old but that passed quickly. Nice flavors of citrus, slightly sweet. Overall a pretty good beer thats worth a try. Price was good too.

was a little disappointed by the beer considering i'm a huge fan of Widmers other beers (Crimson Wheat 08 rocks). was relatively mild hoppy flavor for an IPA but great taste. feels clean on the palate.

Pours a golden amber color with white head and little lacing. Aroma is floral, pine hops. The mouthfeel is medium and crisp. Has a good hoppy bite with a bit of sweetness.
