Poured a dark amber color, mostly still, with off white bubbles, and spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of some oxidized sherry, with oak, vanilla, and citrus fruits. Taste was sweet, with honey, some floral aspects, and an oaky, dry finish.

This one pours a clear ruby brown with no head. The body is smooth. Wood comes through in the flavor, but the honey is a bit of a no-show in the aroma or the flavor.

First of all, I'm a beer guy, not a wine guy. However, White Winter mead is my choice when it comes to wine selection. Being a fan of porters, nut brown ales, and stouts, brackett was a natural curiousity. From the first taste I was hooked. Dark and hearty, the oak brackett is like a nut brown on steroids. For you beer only folks, give it a try; It will become your drink for special occasions.
