Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the guantlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

Pours darkish amber with a low low white head ringlet. This fell short for me on mouthfeel which is weak and watery when it is advertised as a DIPA. It tastes good, is drinkable, but I found this distracting. Needs more hops.

Murky copper colour pour. Decent head but doesn't last. Coats the inside of the glass. Subdued floral and pine aroma. Sweet malt start to the flavour, grapefruit, lemon and pine. Smooth oily mouthfeel. Good stuff.

hard to say if this is just really not my thing or if it's old, as the bottles aren't dated. but in my mind, that's the brewers fault. if they don't want you to get old bottles, they need to date it. this one was very malt forward, with muted simcoe hops barely there. WTF? I was excited about this one, and it was hard to get, but i don't know if i'll spend my hard earned money here again. i put in an email to see if i can get an age from the barcode...

If this was just an IPA, it would be a great beer, but it falls short on the 'Imperial' nature. A murky orange-gold pour with a thin creamy light tan head with a citrusy hop aroma, some spices, and some sweet malt. The flavour is a good bitter citrusy tone but not too strong. I could have used more bitterness for the 'Imperial' to be taken seriously

This finished last in our DIPA tasting evening with all 8 people giving it a big fail. Good color and solid aroma, but nothing to distinguish it from the others. Of the DIPAs available, the weakest hop aroma and flavor were found in this one.

This is the best beer I have had in a very long time. I was so surprised by it that I only drank 3 or the four pack. I am saving the other one for something special. Even though I can go buy more!
If you have not had this beer before you need to find some and drink it now. It is just that good.
Smells of pine, citrus, sugar, Grapefruit and mass amounts of love. Pours a gorgeous. Fantastic carbonation with close to full body mouthfeel. Smooth and very pleasing finish. Flavor was an incredible balanced hop bomb!! Tons of pine, grapefruit, hops, earth and a slightly malty finish. This truly an amazing beer. -

Wow!! This is exactly how I want an imperial IPA to taste. Pours a dark orange with an off-white head that leaves lace all the way down the glass. Powerful aroma of pine and grapefruit. Thick, oily mouthfeel. Taste is all bitter hops although just a hint of malt is evident. A top of the line DIPA for sure and, at 9% abv, one to savor slowly.

This is the first Weyerbacher I've had that stood out to me. A tasty solid DIPA. The aroma is very hoppy, not as strong as I thought it would be though. Appearance is a dark orange....almost a light to medium brown. Very cloudy and dense. Looks almost like apple cider. Flavor is a full hop bomb at the start. I also like the balance of malts which gives it a sweeter finish. Only bought a single of this (mix and match 6-pack fixed price that retailer offers for $10.75), but would definitely buy a 4 or 6 pack in the future.
