It pours a dark and hazy brown with fairly thick dark-white head and some lacing. An aroma of rich caramel malts, oranges, prunes, raisin, some nuts, and a blend of spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and well-bodied. Flavors of caramel malts, orange, prunes, raisins, some bread and yeast, and spices including some cloves. Very good!

Bottled (from beerangel.de). Hazy amber colour with huge foamy head which leaves some lace. Aroma is banana, licorice, mildly roasted notes, some wheat and also mild caramelly notes. Flavour is roasted wheat, some yeast and mild licoricelike notes lurking in the background. Quite hard palate, which makes the beer a bit dull. Big roasted notes in the aftertaste.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger, as (Marke) Weltenburger Hefe-Weissbier Dunkel. ABV is 5.3%. Despite using the "Marke Weltenburger" label of the Bischofshof-brewed beers, and not the "Weltenburger Kloster" label of the original monastery brewery, the rear label claims that this bottle has actually been brewed and bottled in the Klosterbrauerei. BB date 21.02.08. Hazy brown beer, huge off-white head. The moderate aroma has a strange combination of brown bread / bakery and citrussy notes, hints of cloves. The flavour has malty and bready notes, again combined with citrussy / lemony notes. Relatively light bodied and easy drinking. I had it on its own, probably nice with a light meal.

An above average beer I thought. Aroma was malty and sweet, a tad on the fruity side. Appearance is a hazy dark brown, akin to a dark brown sugar hue. Mouthfeel was a bid on the medium bodied side, not weak and not strong. Flavor was very crisp, somewhat malty sweet (again a bit fruity like the nose) but not overly sweet. A very nice, very drinkable beer.

Medium brown color. Large sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity, light spices (clove), touch of chocolate and toffee. A medium to light bodied Dunkel. Malts are fruity and slightly sweet. Nice banana and clove flavors. Crisp and clean. Light and refreshing. Lively carbonation. Very nice beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter

Foamy, short lived head. Dark brown in colour. The nose is malty, with toffee and banana. Not very yeasty and only medium in the mouthfeel department, but good non the less.
