This beer is brewed with a perfect blend of pale barly malt and wheat and soft type of hop; the beer is spiced with coriander. The special yeast gives the beer a slightly acidulous taste. Watou's witbeer is only filterd so as to ensure that when pouring out,the beer is turbid.

250 ml bottle, from Selfridge’s food store, London. ABV is 5%. Hazy straw coloured beer, huge white head. Typical witbier aroma of wheat, citrus and coriander. The flavour is also wheaty and very refreshing, but the citrus and coriander elements are quite moderate. Low bitterness.

Bottled. Hazy pale golden colour with big creamy white head, lacing. Aroma is acidic and sour citrus fruit along with wheat and some slight nuts and spices also. Flavour is citrus, yeast, hops, spices and slight nuttyness. A pleasant witbier. Long spicy aftertaste.

Beer poured a hazy, yellow/white - almost looks like a glass of lemonade with a nice rocky head on top. Aroma is predominantly of a lemon zest with faint hints of coriander and light malt. Starts out with a refreshing citrus flavor and a slightly chalky mouthfeel. Notes of pepper and bubble gum are also present and become more accentuated as the beer warms. The finish features a yeasty note that gradually becomes a fresh grass aftertaste. Very good beer.

Poured with a small head that provided simply outstanding lacing. Some floral aspects (rose?) were detectable and these were nicely laid on top of the basic wheat and citrus flavors of a witbier. There were some significant levels of coriander and other spices, while this one had a great aroma and flavor (including some yeast). This may be my favorite witbier to-date, although getting it fresh and ready to go in Ieper was probably an advantage over the other import wits I’ve had.

Yellow hazy brew ith a nice head that disapeared a bit too quickly. Yeasty nose and incredible yeasty flavor as only the belgian brewer can do. Note of coriander and citrus. Great body for a witbier. Very impressive for this style.
