Especially hand-crafted to commemorate Waterloo’s 150th celebration, Brick is pleased to launch Waterloo Wheat, a refreshing, light-bodied "Belgian style Wit” (white) beer that gets its name due to it’s cloudy, or white appearance. Waterloo Wheat is brewed with unique ingredients such as orange peel and coriander resulting in a refreshing and slightly citrus flavor that is extremely smooth and makes for a great beer to enjoy during the "dog days” of summer. Originally hand-crafted to commemorate Waterloo's 150th celebration, Brick is pleased to bring back Waterloo Wheat. This refreshing authentic style wheat beer is brewed with unique ingredients such as orange peel and coriander, resulting in a refreshing and slightly citrus flavour that is extremely smooth. Try it topped with a slice of orange. Waterloo Wheat goes well with nearly any grilled or smoked food. Try it with barbeque ribs, roasted vegetables or marinated pork chops. The clove-like accents of this Belgian style Wit makes a perfect compliment to potato salad as well as tangy, vinegar-based dressings.

Can: Poured a slightly hazy golden color ale with a nice pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of wheat malt with light banana ester and some cloves is quite good. Taste is a nice mix between some wheat malt with subtle banana ester with a dry finish with cloves notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Well done though a bit too dry at the end.

Quite new at the LCBO in cans, following the trend of most breweries making witbiers this summer 2009. Pours a blonde colour with some light haze, mild carbonation, a decent big white head that is creamy, above-average lasting and has little lace. Becomes very cloudy when the can is fully poured, and sediments are all over. The aroma is pretty grainy with some sour citrus, more on the orange side. Mild spices like cloves. The taste is pretty light with the fruit, grain, and the wheat that shows up in the aftertaste. Not a bad brew, but finding the mix in the flavours lacking a bit of finesse. Also, kind of different to have a witbier in a can (I find). You cannot see the residue in the bottom of the can, like you can (no pun intended) in a bottle.

20 years ago, this was an up and coming brewery - but somewhere along the way - they got off the path and nmow their offerings are pretty horrendous. This is no exception. Trying to grab onto the Belgian wit wave that is sweeping across Canada, Brick fails miserably. Too much citrus hints and very little wheat.

I'm niture why this beer is listed as a Witbier as it came across as the more subtle American Wheat, and an enjoyable at that. Not as domineering as Brick's PC Blanche, it has a very subtle aroma that is pleasant and super clean mouthfeel. Very drinkable and enjyoyable that would please two camps - those that find Wits and Hefes to over powering or "wheaty" and those that find American Wheats to light, for it is neither powering nor light. Just a nice drinking brew that's not a hop fest.

pours a cloudy dark yellow/gold. pouring in the thick sediment clouds the beer signifigantly and also adds small particles that just seem to float there. it offers a bubbly mouthful with hints of spice and citrus. finishes with a very refreshing malty flavour.

650 ml bottle Decants as a murky pale gold ale...decent white puffy Wit cap...big bubbled lively carbonation which is a signature for the style Aroma is pleasant, light spicing and citrus under a malty note...some light mustiness. This is reminiscent of US Micro wits like Celis white...nice subtle fragrant nose to this. Front side is has a dry peppery mouth feel to it, dood dose of dry biscuity wheat malts to chew on, citrus and spice tones develop...finishes crisp where a dry biscuit malts are balanced by a light tart citrus impression from citrus peel and hopping. Light, dry, spritzy character with signature spicy citrus Wit persona with a wonderful wheat maltiness to it. Top flight attempt at a witbier and a bargain at 3.25 a bomber
