Brick Brewing Co. Limited (TSX: BRB) today announced the launch of Waterloo Grapefruit Radler which blends real grapefruit juice and a finely crafted lager. "The combination of real grapefruit juice and beer, small-batch brewed in the German style, creates an extremely refreshing drink for the summer" said Russell Tabata, Chief Operating Officer, Brick Brewing. "Grapefruit is a natural combination with the citrus notes of beer and at 3.1% alcohol it's the perfect way to satisfy a summer thirst." "Waterloo Grapefruit Radler is the only one of its kind that's craft-brewed in Ontario" offered Sean Dennis, Director of Marketing. "We're very excited to be the first Ontario craft brewery to satisfy people's thirst for this variety of beer."

The radler pours a hazy pinkish-gold colour with a large foamy white head that disappeared quickly to nothing leaving a flat-looking liquid. The aroma is grapefruit and lemonade. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet acidic notes and grapefruit. The acidic notes kill the sessionability. -

Single can from the LCBO. Pours a slight hazy, light golden colour with a soapy white head, staying for a while, but all of a sudden disappearing and leaving minimal foam. Sweet grapefruit juice aromas that get sweeter with notes of pineapple with its syrup. The taste is sweet as well, but not as syrupy as expected. Light bodied, light grapefruit with high fructose corn syrup ?? Much prefer the Stiegl version for a dime more.

Pours a small amount of foamy white head and has a hazy golden orangey appearance. Ok lacing. Aromas of grapefruit, some faint citrus hops. Flavours are most notably grapefruit or more like grapefruit juice. Has a lemony lime zest and is actually very sweet. Sugary and syrupy finish. Light bodied. Excessive carbonation. Astringent mouthfeel. Just too sweet to make it even a sessionable. Had much better.
