Hiram Walker set out to brew the finest purest lager ever made in Canada from choicest Canadian malts and hops. Our Lager is a celebration of Walker’s standard for brewing pure honest beers. The copper colour hints to the caramelized bread-like taste of this lager, brewed in accordance with the Oktoberfest beer style. Richly toasted imported malts are presented as the centrepiece of this brew, while German hops are revealed but subdued. The easy drinking character of this beer is attributed to its medium body, fine noble hop bitterness, and clean finish. MALTS: 2-Row, Vienna, Carapils HOPS: Magnum

The beer pours a copper-hued gold with a very thin white ring for a head. The aroma is grassy malt, light caramel, some weak toast, and yeast. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was nicely balanced between the grains and caramel notes and the finish was lightly bitter.

Honest Lager at 5.3% now. Pours a clean amber colour with a big frothy warm cap, decent lasting with lots of lacing. Grassy leaf hops over caramel malt aromas. Same for taste, but the hops finish quickly leaving a watered down caramel taste. This hops has smokey notes. Not bad, but not my favorite Oktoberfest to be honest.
