Authentic bock beers are strong lagers by defenition, and are usually thought of as dark, substantial, and heavy. While this may be true of many types of bock beer, the "Maibock" ("May bock") or Heller Bock ("Light bock") style is the notable exception. Maibocks are lighter in color and in body, and often exhibit more hop flavor and aroma, and a more spicy and prominent hop bitterness than their dark bock cousins. Our festive springtime strong lager is brewed with classic German malts and a combination of European noble hops- the mild and slightly peppery German "Tettnanger" variety and refined, herbal, distinctive Czech "Saaz" variety. The result is a delightful golden lager so clean, crisp and refreshing, you'll be amazed how gracefully it carries its strength!

Stellar beer from Scott at the Vintage. Pours a clear orangeish amber. Not too big of ahead. Aroma is slightly boozed up. alcohol is noticeable in the taste. Hops are up front, so is the spice. Crisp clean tasting beer. It's a big brew for sure.
