Village Monk was brewed in collaboration with Kelci Hind and Colin Leach of The Silk Road Spice Merchant. According to brewmaster Larry Kerwin, "A combination of ginger, cardamom, clove, peppercorn, fennel, cinnamon and mint were added to the chocolate and caramel malts to make our first Village winter porter". The first frost heralds the arrival of the Monk, a jolly, black brew with a stout body borne of copious chocolate and caramel malts. If you are a genial soul, the Monk will sing you ancient notes of cardamom and clove, ginger and fennel, mint and peppercorn. Amen. Malt: A combination of Premium Alberta Pale Malt, and imported caramel, roasted and chocolate malts. Hops: 2 Hop Additions using high alpha Galena hops for bitters and Imported British Fuggles as the aroma hop.
