Beerbistro, The (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – 18 King Street East)
300ml draught
4.5% ABV
$5.31
The beer poured a hazed light golden brown with a creamy white head which lasted several minutes. The aroma was the unmistakeable Unibroue yeast, light grass, some mild spiciness, and tropical fruit. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was dominated by the yeast and tropical fruit. There were also some definite honey notes.

Exactly the way I remember Unibroue beers tasting from my early days of Belgian style beer exactly 20 years ago. This one has a fizzy white head over a cloudy straw beer. Spicy, yeasty aroma. Pretty dry. A little malty and flowery. A solid beer.

Pours clear amber with a very thick eggshell head. Aroma features banana, yeasty and fresh malt notes plus a hint of butterscotch. Flavor presents banana, floral and malty notes, fairly enjoyable. Mouthfeel leaves something to be desired, lacking both body and fizz. Still, enjoy one with Monsieur Rattlehead.

Pours a hazy golden colour with a foamy-frothy white head, good retention and soapy lacing. Beautiful aromas of fresh grassy hops found in Saison with citrus notes and the balance of the sweetness from the Belgian Ale yeast. The taste has the same hop, but milder with the lighter alcohol content. Still, a great tasting easy-drinking Saison. Very well-done!

Picked up a bottle at Marché Omni. Pours a huge frothy white head that leaves lots of thick dirty lacing. Has a hazy orangey appearance. Aromas are floral, citrus and yeasty. Flavours are very fruity, citrusy, some tropical fruit notes, belgian yeast notes. Full bodied mouthfeel. At 4.5%abv could be the most easily accessible Unibroue beer without losing its signature strong punch.
