Pours black with a deeply tanned head. Forget any preconcieved negative connotations about "canned beer" as this beer demonstrates that the vessel that contains the beer may not have such a bearing. Mild alcohol in the aroma along with chocolate and anise. Velvet does not begin to describe how wonderful this is in the mouth... silky to the pallete and that, even, is a pale description. Flavors match aromas and intensify as it warms in the glass. Epic.

Sampled at Mammoth Lakes Bluesapalooza. This is stunningly delicious. Absolutely perfect weight for a porter. Tastes of coffee, anise, a bit of chocolate, and...burnt. Not anything in particular that has been burned, just the blackened, carbonized bits that linger in the camp stove burner. Pretty clean finish. A fantastic beer from a brewery that I have never heard of.

    Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Sampled on 6/10/2011. This Baltic Porter pours a dark black color from a 16oz can. Medium to small sized tan foamy head. The aroma is chocolate, fruity and sweet with a touch of licorice. A medium bodied Baltic Porter. The malts are chocolate, fruity and sweet with some licorice. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. Nice balance. Decent roastimess. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

16 oz can...nice. pours blac with cocoa head that immediately disappears, though the bar is anything but flat. the anise reminds me a little of stone RIS without the hops. licorice and chocolate (and alcohol) evident in the aroma and flavor. prickly feel that warms you nicely. a nice beer/change of pace.
