Cellared this one waiting for just the right occasion. I hoped to keep it longer but with the winter we've been having, another below-zero night and a lunar eclipse seemed to be the right opportunity. The aging proved to mellow this brew over what I remember from drinking it young. The color was great - opaque black with a nice creamy tan head. Aroma of coffee, caramel and whiskey. Flavors nicely balanced; good sweet, roasted malt, just a hint of bitterness, and a lingering taste of bourbon with a long, smooth, warming finish. Nicely done. I wish I had another.

This porter pours an eclipse black color from a 12 oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee with a touch of bourbon and wood. A medium bodied porter. Malts are fruity, chocolate and sweet. Hops are slightly spicy and earthy. Touch of bourbon and wood, mostly in the aftertaste. Very smooth and mellow tasting porter. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Heemer brought this brew down to share at Noogfest II. At first, I thought the name/label was cool; however, I didn't have high expectations. Upon my first sip, my tastebuds welcomed the rich flavors of coffee, chocolate, cream, and hazelnut. The alcohol was very warming and the bourbon flavor wasn't overpowering, making this an excellent brew I'd love to enjoy again (which I am presently doing). This is strange -- I can't stand bourbon, but I love this brew! Thanks, Eric -- Who's Yo' Daddy?!

This big boy porter pours a ruby black. This aroma is full of cocoa and a touch of butterscotch. The bourbon is evident, but not overly powerful. This is great stuff.
