Ebel's Weiss beer is a very traditional German Hefeweizen that is naturally unfiltered. It has wonderful malt sweetness and a soft aroma of clove, vanilla, and banana. This deep golden colored weiss will make you think you are in Bavaria.

Encroaching upon the best by date, there was no notice of deterioration within the three bottles I enjoyed during the Brown's surprising victory over Baltimore. That being said I discovered that this is another one of the few more genuine American Hefe's I've come across. Good aroma of spicy cloves, mild banana, and creamy vanilla (could be more abundant). Cloudy and bright orange-yellow color with a small head and spotty lacing, not too impressive. Spritzy and lively mouth feel that is slightly tart with a mellow dryness. Rather authentic flavor of this traditional German style. Firm banana and clove are primarily featured. Dry wheat malt along with a touch of honey and some bready malts. Good one.

Rich golden color with a slight haze and a medium head - a bit short for a weiss. Strong vanilla aroma with a musty malt background laced with intermittent bannana notes. Mouthfeel is gritty. Flavor starts out with a sweet, wheaty maltiness followed by a slight hop presence and finishing with a yeasty, orange peel citrus note.

A nice local brew from Illinois that is good and quenching, but not up to snuff compared to the awesome wheat beer from Two Brothers - Monarch Wit.

Best by 1/7/05. Very cloudy orange gold color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and citrusy and lemony. A medium bodied Hefeweizen. Malts are fruity and extremely citrusy. Lots of lemon flavors (think lemonade). Lively carbonated. There is a Hefeweizen in here somewhere, but I just can’t get past the lemon flavors. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is citrusy and lemony.

Hazy golden, w/ lots of carbonation, Ebelweiss has lots of banana & clove on the nose & palate. It has the crispness of a good wheat beer but does finish w/ a bit of sourness on the tongue. This is a real thirst-quencher.
