A brown-blackness in color. Big loose bubblily light brown head that rises briefly above. A thin ringlet is barely left behind. Chocolate, roastiness in the nose. Nice and smooth, full bodied, alcohol presence. The tasting is like the nose, chocolat, roastiness. Good, just not a stand alone.

Sampled on 10/11/2012 at GABF. This Imperial Porter pours a medium black color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee and sweet. A medium to full bodied Imperial Porter. The malts are chocolate and coffee and sweet. The hops are earthy. Decent carbonation. Nice roasty malts with a very smooth finish. There is also a touch of vanilla at the finish. Very nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

It pours oil-black with thick light-tan head and substantial lace build-up. An aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, light molasses, some raisin, and mild spices. The mouthfeeel is smooth and well-bodied. Flavors of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, molasses, raisin, bitters, and a choice blend of spices. Excellent, and well worth the price!

Northstar pours a thick coal black body that has a thick tan cap that settled down quickly. Aromas of fruit, chocolate, and caramel. The mouthfeel was creamy and smooth. Flavor started with the sweet chocolate, with some fruit in the background, finish was a slight coffee bitterness, and the alchol was hidden well. Overall a pretty good imp. porter, a bit sweet but tasty none the less.

Weird nose that I can't place , I know it is very sweet and malty it seems. Pours a nice very dark brown with a good tan head. Very nice Carbonation with a close to full body. Smooth silky finish. Flavor Taste "whoopers" or mild duds.. kind of cool...

22 oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a smallish brown head that quickly diminishes to a collar that laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet lactic chocolate and some dark fruits with a little hops in the background. As it sits, alcohol comes out.

The flavor is sweet chocolate, lactose and grains with a little dark fruits. It has a crisp finish, but negligible bitterness. The alcohol is well-hidden. The mouthfeel is pretty full with light carbonation.

Overall, an OK imperial porter. It's a bit too unbalanced on the sweet side - almost like a milk stout.

Milk chocolate nose with caramel apple hints. Full creamy mouthfeel. A little bitterness in the middle with a touch of acidity. Overall though a very sweet brew. Full of choclate and fruit flavors making it a pleasure to drink. Thanks to ern for this one.

This porter pours with an opaque black body topped by a thick, brown head wtih good lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and full of mocha notes. A slight sourness lingers in the background. The flavor is slightly sweet yet bitter, malty and roasty with very slight mocha notes and a hint of sourness. Full bodied, smooth and oddly numbing.
