Clear dark ruby brown, brown foam head, pitty not lasting long. Strong caramel aroma and similar taste. Bit sweet, malty, nutty. Good German beer. (Velp 201501)

This German brew has a chestnut brown body upon pour that holds up an off white head that had decent staying power. There is a fruitiness, sweetness with notes of alcohol in the nose. A lot of carbonation. And, a creaminess the holds a good balance of sweetness to bitterness, spiceness to breadiness and a generous amount of alcohol.

Maroon colored body with a thin, almost non-existent head and tiny spots of lacing. Bountiful aroma of sweet, sugary snacks and dark, ripe, juicy fruits. Slick and smooth with a slight alcohol presence, drinks real nice. Would like to feel a bit more body, but this still works. Vinous flavor with plenty of plums and raisins. A dry wheat aspect as well as sugary, sweet rolls and candy.

Pours a dark copper colour, big head at first, quickly dissipates to a thin white ring. Sweet enticing caramel aroma. Mouthfeel is light and sweet. Really nice beer.

Reddish amber colour, medium head, which vanishes quite fast. Aroma is big time caramel malts and some slight alcoholic kick. Flavour is malt, some slight alcohol in background. Slightly sticky palate, but very refreshing.

Poured a dark brown with red edges good head not much lacing. Aroma was earthy, malty dark fruits. Flavor was much the same with a little chocolate some hops grassy even. Did this along side 5 other doppebocks finished in the middle.

Numbers didn't come out as high as I enjoyed this, but.... Appearance was clear ruby brown color with an ok head, weak lacing. Sweet breads and caramel were present in the aroma. Flavor was similar to aroma, some dark fruits, light spicing (almost a nutmeg/clove combo), good zing in the finish, nice hop showing to balance this out, although the malts weren't that strong within the style. Light grass came out with higher temperatures. Mouthfeel was light initially, but as it warmed, it turned moderate.

Beer poured dark cider brown, moderate head and little lacing. Flavor was dark fruits, some caramel with a touch of chocolate. Sweet, but not overly so. Mouthfeel was dry, but a tad thin. Enjoyable.

What a pleasant suprise! Poured deep copper/brown and clear with a small cap of head that faded off. Wonderful aroma with loads of caramelly malts, hints of wood and vanilla, chocolate and a hint of raisins and dark fruit...but I might have imagined those. Creamy, medium bodied mouthfeel, perfectly balanced attenuation. The flavor simply knocks thy socks offeth, and at 7% or so, it has the flavor punch without the alcohol kick that can spoil many others. A most excellent offering. Thanks to Jake at 33 Wine Shop.

I liked this one a lot more than expected. Had some nice malts and a little mellow cocoa thing going on. Some hints of some apricot and some prunes and maybe a little vanilla extract
