This deep golden lager is characterized by a big malty flavor upfront with a smooth drying finish. Mai is German for the month of May which is traditionally celebrated with the release of a strong, yet lighter colored brew just like this.

On tap at Triumph in Princeton, NJ. Pours a nice gold, almost clear, with a foamy white head. Aroma is grainy with some sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with good carbonation. Flavor is malty, bready and a little sweet with a nice hoppy bitter finish. My first Maibock -- delicious and refreshing.

This beer is kind of light for a bock being more of a pale gold as opposed to a the mopre usual red or darker varieties. Aroma is strong on the grains with heavy sweetness. Flavour is sweet, but still very drinkable.

Tap at Princeton location. Poured golden with a thick white head. Good retention. Aroma had honey and grain. Very drinkable for the alcohol content.

No better time of year to try a Maibock than now, so that's what I did. This was the first Triumph beer I ever had, and I was pleased. Aroma was a little grainy at first, but the malt flavor was pretty solid and easy to drink. I'll look forward to trying more.
