TRUCE 2021 Holiday Ale with Dried Figs, Raisins, and Star Anise. Winter holiday ales are a staple of Belgian brewing where special ales are brewed to be strong and spicy. Truce is no different. Replete with flavours of dark dried fruit, rich malt, and a touch of licorice on the finish, this beer drinks like a Christmas cake in a glass. Ageable for many years.

Clean copper-amber colour with tiny Belgian carbonation. The head is big, light-beige, frothy-creamy with good retention and some foamy traces of lacing. Dark dried fruit aromas, malty with a herbal touch. The taste shows the fruit fruits stronger, with decent dryness in the finish. Hints of liquorice. Rich, but not overly, the hops helping. Gets hazy near the last pour. A very good Christmasy Belgian darker strong beer with some good dried dark fruits and hints of nuttiness.
