500 ml capped bottle, as Thurn & Taxis Dunkle Weisse. Poured in the old and original T & T Weissbier Vase an unfiltered and cloudy old-copper-brown coloured D H W with a generous one finger beige, fine and dense foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is quite unpleasant sourish wheaty malts, toasted malts and spicy, cloves, nutmeg. The flavour is wheat malts, moderate spicy, cloves and fruity tones, apples and late emerging bananas. The mouthfeel is light crispy and thin. The texture is watery. This light to medium bodied D H W has a dry light fruity and bitter finish. May be a glorious brewery story, a well known brewer's family, fact is, this Dunkel Hefeweizen is, for me, a real disappointement.

Bottled. Hazy brown colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is caramel, wheat, some cooked vegetables, spices and mild notes of rubber. Flavour is caramel, wheat, some mild earthyness, mild bananas as well as slight rubberyness. Warming up it shows some mild notes of licorice.
