This classic auburn-red lager descends directly from the first "Vienna" produced in Trieste at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. It maintains its smooth, fresh, simple taste together with a cleverly weighted flavour of malt and hops. Because of the simplicity and balance of its aroma this light red beer is perfect with all kind of food.

Enjoyed in a bottle at Pub Italia. Pours a hazy deep amber colour with a creamy warm cap, average retention and no lace. Big bread nose at first pour, then fruity malts appear. Fruity malts with caramel and a short finish. Wet mouthfeel but gets tarty, lingering. Surprisingly good looking for an Italian Vienna and well-brewed overall.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika. ABV is 5.3%. Deep golden to amber colour, large white head. Moderate aroma of malts and caramel, a hint of chicken manure(!). The flavour has also some malts and caramel, and is otherwise bland and boring, nearly void of hops.
