Brewed using only traditional ingredients, Switchback Ale is a reddish-amber ale which is particularly well-balanced, allowing for complexity of flavor coupled with an unusually smooth and refreshing character. Five different malts, select hop varieties, and our own specially cultivated yeast create an ale which leads with hop flavors and a subtle impression of fruit (our yeast’s contribution), followed by a palate pleasing malty finish. Our own special process uses the yeast to naturally carbonate the beer, and we leave it unfiltered. The result is a satisfying brew full of flavor with a remarkably clean and smooth finish.

Delightful deep golden cloudy beer with medium head and lacing. It has a nice fruity aroma, but what's striking is its incredibly smooth character. Master Brewer, Bill Cherry, has balanced 6 malts in this craft brew. The art and complexity definitely pay off! This very drinkable, and very satisfying beer is available only on tap, and often only in Chittenden County, VT. If you get the chance, it's definitely worthy of a try.

September 2024: On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Deep golden to orange colour, large white head. Aroma of caramel and toffee. The flavour is not too sweet, but has also notes of caramel and toffee. Hints of earthy hops.

Enjoyed at White Rock Pizza in Vermont. Unfiltered golden colour with a creamy white head and very good lacing. Mild hop scent with light fruity malts. Orange notes with a malty taste and decent hop in the finish. A nice unfiltered Pale Ale with a good fruity touch.

A cloudy, light yellow golden colored ale with a white head. Initially not only did I notice that it was smooth and easy drinking but also had a lemony, floral aroma from the hops. Tasted the bread-like malts and bitter, floral hops. Had the opportunity to try it at the Village Tavern in Jeffersonville, VT.
