neutral taste with a hint of bitterness on the finish. pretty nice and easy-drinking. runner-up to holsten. i used to frequent a store that sold german beers. i bought this a couple of times when the store ran out of holsten.

clear light golden colour with no head, moderate hoppy presence, alcohol aroma, slightly tart and medium-bodied with a dry bitter finish - not bad at all

(33 cl can, bought in Greece). Pale golden colour, low head. Very weak grassy aroma, hints of citrus. Fairly fresh and clean flavour, rather neutral but not unpleasant.

I didn't expect this to be all that interesting. In fact, I felt sure thist would be something of a cousin to such awful "malt liquors" as Steel Reserve and Colt 45 (since it was that secion of the liquor store that I found this 16-oz red-on-silver can). But when I popped it open, I was plesantly surprised to find that this was not bad, not bad at all.
Pours a little foamy, but that evens out to a nicely behaved layer of head, with some light Belgian Lace as things progress. The aroma was nothing to write home about, but surely nothing too repulsive, either.
But the flavor profile..., now that is something worth mentioning, me'thinks. Nice solid grain background, with enough German hops (Tettnanger? Saaz?) to notice. To me, this translates to a nice drinkable beer, even if the mouthfeel is a bit lacking.
Something that won't win any awards, but is still satisfying enough to warrant interest.
