Whatever happened to Goldilocks after she fled the Three Bears, leaving behind neither apology nor breakfast? We’ll never know, but the point of this tale is not respect for others, but rather that when something is “just right” don’t leave it unattended as someone may goldilocks it when you’re not looking. Complex, balanced and deceptively mellow, this classic Golden Strong is spicy, fruity, and definitely “just right”!

750ml bottle from Central City. One thing I've noticed about Strange Fellows is that they're beers are priced somewhat higher than their contemporaries, but I'm not sure that the product is so much better as to justify the higher cost. However, this was my first from them, and it wasn't half bad. Pours a headless, clear darker gold. Good aroma here, spices and yeast notes abound. Medium-bodied mouthfeel. Flavour was not short of yeast or spice, and there is an obvious booziness, but not in an offensive way. Sweetish finish. Pretty good, I thought, but maybe not almost $11 worth.
