Named for Huntsville’s “Mountain of Health,” Montesano Maibock is a German springtime bock, golden in color and with a small hop profile. Pronounced “MY-BOCK,” the style is traditionally a bridge between summer beers, light in color and lower in gravity, and the bigger, darker bocks of winter. Our take on the style is sweet with a light crispness in the finish from the Tettnanger hops.

Comes out of the growler a clear amber with a thick pale buff head. Malty aroma has hoppy and subtle fruity underpinnings, the latter mainly pear. Crisp flavor is malty and fruity with hops providing backup, not strong but very drinkable and refreshing. Smooth texture has some good fizz and leaves a sharp malty and hoppy finish. Here’s to your health!
