Poured up on tap at GABF 2012 with a mahogany looking body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sort of sticky sugary prunes, sweet malts, a little bit of musty earthiness and then it gets both nutty and molasses like. The taste is rich delivering an almost black strap molasses like sweetness and spiciness to go along with dark roasted malts. It then flows into sweet prune like esters and then lingering roastiness into the finish as well as a touch of booze. Nice rich brew.
