thanks to mr. dove for this awesome beer!! the brew pours a light copper/light bronze type color. the head was a massive white creamy/foamy head of goodness. it had n incredible life span that finally/slowly dissapaited towards the end of the brew. amazing lacing throughout the life of the beer. the aroma of this beer was highly citrus (grapefruit) hops with some slight subtle floral undertones. but no doubt about it, the grapefruit is strongly apparent! the taste on this brew was.... indeed citrusy, cant really decipher anything else at the moment, would love to have another to review later but i doubt it'll happen. the mouthfeel was creamy/light bodied. coats the tongue incredibly well and is a total lip smacker. the aftertaste was extremely dry that seemed to sucked the moisture outta ur mouth. i drank this beer at room temp, and it was exceptional. i would bet this would be hard to drink in large quantities to due the high amount of hops. but none the less one god damn good beer that if i have ever came across i would most certainly get again. sad i only tasted the one!! :(

Rated Nov. 2006. 22oz bomber. Clear golden to orange color with white head. Aroma is mostly pine hops and a hint of sweet malts. Nice hop heavy pine flavor flowing into floral hop bitterness and with a slight under current of malty sweetness. Good lacing to the finish where a lingering pine hoppiness awaits the imbiber.

On tap at Bier Markt, Ottawa. Pours a good size frothy white head and has a pale golden appearance. Lacing is ok. Aromas of citrus and grassy hops. Flavours are fairly fruity, citrus and piney hops, notes of oranges and a bit of bitterness on the palate. Still quite enjoyable even after warming up a bit. Damn good IPA.

The beer pours a translucent golden orange colour with a bubbly white head. The aroma is lemony, grainy, with hints of caramel and yeast. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was caramel, weak citrus hops, and a light fruitiness. Good, but not as goo as the arrogant bastard. -

Hazy gold pour with a foamy white head. Classic west coast IPA with grapefruit and piney hop aroma and taste. Long, lingering bitter finish. A true benchmark for the style.

Clear yellow with small white foam head. Aroma is hoppy like an IPA should be. Taste is nice bitter, with some sweet tones. Nice long bitter aftertaste. A good IPA, but not a oompf IPA. (Houston 201208)

Definitely one of the best IPA's I've ever laid lips on. Citrus and pine dominant the nose. I caught a whiff just from popping the top and I was in love. I guess it could have a fuller mouthfeel, but this is only a standard IPA and not meant to be too thick. I get a strong desire for some good aged cheddar when drinking this gem.

Got to try some of this at the Brew’s Best Beer Fest on my trip to Vegas, fall 2011. Poured a hazy golden colour with a little amber hue. It's head is creamy, off-white, has great retention and thick lacing. Cascade hop scent with light malt notes. The mouthfeel is dry with just a little wetness. Grainy malt taste that is well-balanced with the hop. A very well-brewed IPA.

The people at stone know their craft and do it very well. It shows in this IPA. I had had a few IPAs before this one but this one has set the standard for me that all other IPAs after will be judged. I think its a good starter IPA if one wishes to explore this style and haven't yet. Good overall experience. My go to IPA.

Another fine example of the stone brewing craft. This IPA is a lighter version of some of the IPA brews that are out there. Goes great with food but is dynamic enough to stand alone. Pours slightly hazy, with a lovely burnt copper color. Flavor is moderate hops with a bit of sweetness. A little expensive for everyday, but it fills the bill when the time is right.
