Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7
Dark amber in color with a thin but persistent tan head. Aroma is sweet and assertive; hints of fruit and toffee. Mouthfeel is full and smooth. Full-bodied and rich with complex, sweet, powerful malt flavors. Finish is long, smooth and warm. The brewer says this is a traditional Bock, but that seems to shortchange this brew; it has all the characteristics of a fine German-style Doppelbock.
