There are some things in life that require a certain sense of bravado: these might include ordering a quadruple espresso, deciding to sleep without a nightlight, or choosing to live in a region of the continent that is gradually sinking into the Pacific Ocean. If you're no longer scared of the dark, then there's no reason to be afraid of our stout. A generous portion of rolled oats and lots of black roasted barley give this beer a warm, roasted nose, and a distinct dryness that succumbs to waves of lingering satisfaction.

Dark brown, almost black pour, with a frothy brown head. A good ring it left, too. Nose was coffee and malt. Flavour had more chocolate than did the aroma, and also had the coffee and malt. Above average mouthfeel, with a bitter finish.

One of the recent bottlings, great orange graphics on dark bomber. Pretty good head and it reatains well with some small and medium sized bubbles. Fairly bitter, silky mouthfell, large in body, pitch black. Taste and smell has lots of coffee, lots and lots of it. Also a faint smell of toast and some light sweet smoke. My first ever Steamworks beer, had kinda planned to not like it, and I really like it. Oh well!!

Enjoyed a pint on tap while sitting at the bar. Pitch black color, with a chocolate milk colored, creamy head. Good stability and lacing throughout. Some smokiness and lots of coffee smalls. Lots of roasted bitter coffee, cocoa and some more smoke flavors. Body was a bit light body, not quite the same rich smoothness in some other oatmeal stouts. Lots of flavor, not bad at all.
