Comes out of the tap a pretty clear amber with a thick, find-bubbled ivory head. Aroma is fairly hoppy, not strong but tempting. Hoppy flavor has strong woody and hay notes,a little bitterness, a hint of grapefruit. Mouthfeel is firm and smooth, and leaves a lasting tingle. North or south, a worthy IPA.

Respectable and perhaps a bit above average in flavor, but nothing that just really blew me away. All requisite IPA characteristics present and nice lacing. Seems far more "sessionable" that the alcohol content may otherwise dictate.

Northern Lights pours a nice reddish-amber color, with a substantial head and good lacing.Vague piney aroma with a fair dose of malt to sweeten things up. The taste is fairly mellow, with a citrusy light bitterness that fades fairly quickly. Orange and lemon notes supported by some soft malt, with some late grapefruit. A little on the sweeter side, but refreshing, a little sticky. Overall a nice bitter bite, an above average ipa.

Whoa whoa, what's with the poor reviews? I thought this beer was great. In fact I'm looking forward to it as it continues to warm up. Pours a dense amber, with not much head. Leaves behidn quite a bit of lacing however. Aroma is full on hop nose, pine resin. Taste is well hopped, citrus and grapefruit.

I picked this beer up as a mixed six-pack from the Salem Kroger. This was a nice IPA. The aroma and flavor was of citrus and pine with some notes of grass. I enjoyed this beer.

An above average IPA that I've been fortunate to have a few times. A light copper colour, with some haze, and a medium sized creamy tan head. Pine, citrus, and sweet malt make up the aroma. The flavour starts off with the malt up fromt followed by a citrusy hop bite in the end.

A touch fruity with some mild hop notes. Good color and froth. Not overly assertive, would have assumed this was a pale ale if the bottle were not labeled.

On tap at Deluxe Grill and Tap. This poured an orange color with an aroma of pine, orange, and grapefruit. The flavor is rather bitter with some malty aspects to balance it out but also a ton of pine, grapefruit, and oranges. Overall a very nice IPA!

They just swapped out Sweetwater with Starr Hill at the musicfest venue that I camp at. I always bring my own beer, but you can't bring that beer to the stage area unless you sneak it in. My buddy offered to by us a round of Starr Hill, so figured I'd take him up on that offer so I can have a couple more beers to review. He grabbed me the IPA, and the blonde "One Love" for himself. Somebody we were with said he had tried the IPA and "didn't like it at all". I found mine drinkable, although it was kind of weak for an IPA. Missing flavor, color more on the pale yellow to copper side (hardly any orange). Tasted the hops, but the balance was a little off. Reminded me of the IPA that I tried from Orlando Brewery called Pompous Ass, but the Pompous Ass was better IMO. My buddy couldn't even finish his sample, which he gave to me instead of throwing away. I'll save those comments for the next review.

I got a semi translucent orange colored ale. Big, impressive frothy white head. Decent hang time, setlling into a light soapy lacing. Lots of froth stuck to the glass. This is a straight up IPA. Subdued aroma of malt and citrus. Moderate body. Good carbonation and nice smoothness. The taste is hops, grassy and citrusy. An average IPA. Not the best. Doesn’t stand out. But isn’t bad at all.
