1.8 billion years ago, a colossal chunk of fiery rock came crashing to Earth creating the Sudbury Basin. An hommage to the blast, this copper-coloured altbier (German for "old-beer") boasts an aromatic hop presence and a creamy head. A dry finish compliments its pleasant malt flavours leaving you ready for the next sip.

Can. Colour - a cloudy amber pour with a 2" foamy off-white cap. Minimal lacing. Aroma - roasted malt. light caramel, spicy hops. Mouthfeel - well carbonated and medium bodied. Flavour - sweet notes of caramel and biscuity malt and a mild bitter hop finish. I liked it.

Pours a fair size foamy beige head but dissipates fairly quickly. Has an amber appearance. Weak lacing. Aromas of light roasted malts. Flavours are toasted malts, hints of breads and caramel. Very subtle spice notes. The finish is an odd mix dried fruits (plums, prunes). Good mouthfeel. Average carbonation. Not bad.

Pours a hazy deep amber colour with a beige cap and some foamy lace. I sense infection in this one, as sour nose and tongue. Toasted malts, fruitiness, caramel and some hops. Hope I can try one not infected one day as this sourness is killing it.
