So, I've had both the St. Louis Kriek and the St. Louis Premium Kriek and aside from the lower ABV I am unable to tell the difference between the two....a sour cherry lambic is a sour cherry lambic.

Nice dark reddish color with great white top. Aroma is strongly cherryish but still has quite nice sidekick of hops. Taste is a bit too sweet and cherry kills the beer a little bit too much. I'd say that this is not a beer but not bad either.

Bottle Date 08/2007, Cork Date 08/2005, Sampled September 2007
I can only assume that is a best by bottle date as I purchased this a couple months ago. Pours with an initially finger and a half thick, dirty red tinged, tan colored head that sits atop a murky, not quite opaque, sickly pinkish tinged, red colored beer. At first the aroma smells like a mix cherry & strawberry ice creams, but then some funkiness kicks in. At times I get notes of rancid cheese, urea, butterscotch and touches of burnt plastic. Somehow this does not smell nearly as sweet as the Premium Framboise did, hopefully this means the taste is not as sweet either; somehow I doubt it though.

Yep, this is again a super sweet beer. Way too much sugar was added to this beer. Tastes strongly of cherries, but even still the sweetness overwhelms even this. The beer finishes with a light, funky, astringent note and even a bit of plastic-like phenolics. Again there is really not much to this beer; lots of sweetness, intense non-descript fruit character and a fair amount of distinctly cherry derived flavors. Not worth it at all, though it is perhaps not quite as offensive as the raspberry version.

Ruby red colour, mediumsized reddish white head. Aroma of cherries and nuts. Sweet cherry in flavour. Quite mouthdrying. Strong cherry in aftertaste, also the throat goes quitge dry. Surprisingly full for a 3.2% beer. The cherry feels artificial in this one.

250ml can: Poured a bright red color beer with a small pink bubbly head with no retention. Aroma of fake cheery syrup is dominating and kind of gross. Taste is also disgustingly sweet with the fake cherry syrup totally dominating. Overall, this has the appearance and taste of a cherry soda.

Came in a 4-pack of 250ml mini-cans at the LCBO. Says on the side of the can, Belgian beer with sugar and sweetner. I think it also says 25% cherries, but not sure what it refers to. Best before date on bottom, 30-07-2007. Pours in my Mort Subite flute glass, a rich cherry red. The head is pink in colour, small, does not stay long, but leaves some lace. Very sweet cherry nose with a soda mouthfeel. The taste starts off with the sweet cherry flavour, but finishes with a light sourness that is pleasant. Quite good, but more like a sugary cherry soda than a real kriek.

This fruit-lambic pours a deep red color from a 12.7 oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is cherry and sweet. A medium bodied Kriek. Lots of cherry flavors, very sweet. Its not really all the Kriek like, but that may be do to the fact its just way too sweet. Good carbonation. Kind of soda-lik but its still sort of enjoyable in a weird sort of way. I mean its like a cherry pop with some alcohol bite and a bit of yeast and tartness. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.
