Pours a deep amber colour with a big creamy, light-beige head, great retention and thick foamy-creamy lacing. Steady tiny bubbles for carbonation. Loads of nuts in the aromas with some dark fruits (raisins, dates), caramel and even hints of coffee, hops. Flavours are mostly dark fruits with some light roasted malts and the Calvados apples notes showing a bit in the finish. Again, mild coffee which help things. I like the lingering on the tongue, but not so much a fan of the start in the mouth. A nice brew, but not sure the oak aged does good to an already great beer.

A stupendous beer. Already a fan of the regular Abt 12, the subtle hints of oak and vanilla really add to the beer's character. If there is one issue I have with this beer is that it was very hard to find.
